AIDA SCHOOL EDITION
In partnership with Whole Foods Market (San Antonio), Woodlawn Academy of the Performing Arts presents Elton John and Tim Rice's AIDA SCHOOL EDITION; a contemporary musical of love, loyalty, and betrayal. Set in ancient Egypt, AIDA SCHOOL EDITION tells the epic story of an enslaved Nubian princess and her forbidden love with an Egyptian soldier. This grand classic tale of power and timeless love includes a pop-rock score featuring stirring ballads and rousing choral numbers. Adapted from the four-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, this School Edition will feature performers from both Woodlawn Academy of the Performing Arts' middle school and high school casts. Wrapping up the holiday season Woodlawn Academy of the Performing Arts brings to the stage, Roald Dahl's WILLY WONKA JR. This delightful children's musical follows the delicious adventures encountered by Charlie Bucket during his visit to Mr. Willy Wonka's unique and mystifying chocolate factory. The stage adaption of the 1971 film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, starring Gene Wilder, features all-time song favorites from the movie and includes an array of new and fun medleys. WILLY WONKA JR. plays January 12 - 15 on Woodlawn Theater's main stage.
